Business Details

The KZ memorial site of Vaihingen/Enz consists of three “modules”.

In 2005, a building was constructed on the foundations of the former delousing barrack of the camp. It comprises the visitor room with a model of the camp and information board as well the dimmed-down “black box”. There, the history of the camp is told by way of a media presentation to include the foundations, which form the sole preserved remains of the camp. Due to the horrible suffering inflicted in the “dying camp”, the 20-minute collage has a deeply moving effect.

In 2017, a seminar room has been added for pedagogic preparation and follow-up and for events.

Not far from the buildings a protective shaft is located, which was dug out by the prisoners and is opened for guided tours.

The KZ cemetery with 1,342 anonymous graves is always freely accessible. The names of the dead can be found on four plaques put up in 2013.

The pedagogic programme comprises guided tours of varying duration, presentations about specific topics upon request and courses for continues teacher education.
